NO ONE IS IMMORTAL...

As I worked on my book today I could not but overhear the evening news broadcast. With only half and ear listening the other busy thinking and typing new words on the computer I heard the name Elf Louise being mentioned. Louise Locker and I go way back. We went to elementary school together and formed a special bond even back then. I'm not saying we were best buds but we have always respected each other and thought the best of one another. She later went on to create the Elf Louise project in which every year she raises money and collects toys to be distributed to children whose families might not otherwise be able to provide memories of presents under a Christmas tree... even if they could afford a Christmas tree. No Louise has always been about caring for others. Her name here in San Antonio is synonymous with Christmas and it is hard to imagine how many small children and appreciative parents lives have been touched by her kindness. That is why when I heard she was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago my heart dropped a beat. How I hate that disease. It always takes the best from us and it doesn't care.
My heart goes out to Louise and my prayers as I know so many are with her.

THOUGHTS ARE SEEDS...

Thoughts are like seeds. When you have a thought you create a seed. When you program that seed into your subconscious mind, you in effect plant that seed in fertile soil. Emotions act as nutrients for the seed so that when thoughts are combined with emotions such as love, faith and gratitude. You fertilize the seed you have planted in the fertile soil of your subconscious mind. When you repeatedly re-program these thought seeds everyday you provide them with water and sun. Repetitive programming is how you care for the seed. Any good gardener knows that a garden unattended does not flourish but when a garden is cared for everyday, whatever is planted in the garden grows strong and healthy and multiplies.

I'm a Virgin...

Hey, I'm 60 years old and no I'm not a Virgin Virgin. I'm a blogging Virgin. I'm presently in the process of writing a self-help book called AIMING FOR NUMBER ONE. I started writing it 35 years ago and life got in the way... but I'm glad it did. At the time I was therapist and since those days I've learned so much more. I've been able to read a lot and yes life has kicked my ass around on more than one occasion. Anyway... I'm writing this book because all I really wanted to do back in those days as a therapist was to help other people. It seems that time has not taken that away from me but I now know that I don't have all the time left in the world to get my message across. So here it is... I believe that anyone can be a success despite the cards that life has dealt you. In fact, I believe that anyone can be a success because of the cards that life deals you... but you have to know how to play them and when to play them. Books like THINK AND GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill and THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne only scratched the surface. AIMING FOR NUMBER ONE goes beyond those two because it is written in simple applicable understandable English. A lot of people have lost their jobs in the past couple of years and even more are struggling to to find their purpose and achieve the success they've always dreamed about. I can help! If you are reading this and want to know more... just let me hear from you...
